Amazon has cut the price of a video doorbell that homeowners are praising as a 'cheaper alternative to a Ring', with some even claiming its video quality exceeds that of the leading model.
The Blink Video Doorbell and Sync Module 2, originally priced at £59.99, is now on offer for £29.99 for a limited time. This reduction makes it a more budget-friendly choice compared to the Ring Video Doorbell's current £59.00 price tag on Amazon, although this typically retails at £99.99.
The Blink enables users to respond to their door from anywhere, courtesy of its 1080p HD day and infrared night video and two-way audio capabilities accessible via mobile phone. This convenient device can be wired to your existing doorbell to ring your current in-home bell or paired with a separate Blink Mini camera.
It boasts a quick set-up time, comes with two AA lithium batteries promising up to two years of battery life, and features an internal battery that protects the device from weather damage. Once connected to Wi-Fi via the app, it can be used with Alexa for live view and two-way audio, motion and chime alerts, and to arm or disarm the bell, reports MyLondon.
Additional features can be accessed with a Blink Subscription Plan. Each Blink Video Doorbell purchase includes a Sync Module 2 and mounting kit, complete with corner mount, screws, and fixings. Alternatively, Argos has cut the price of this TP-Link Tapo D210 2K Video Doorbell from £49.99 to £44.99, while Currys is selling the third generation Ring Battery Video Doorbell at £99.99.
The Blink Video Doorbell, with an impressive four-star average rating from over 23,000 reviews on Amazon, has made a positive impression, reports Birmingham Live.
One buyer said: "Bought to replace Ring doorbell, easy to install and set up, works as described. Not as solidly built as the Ring, so far battery life is on par, also has slightly better video quality, with less of the fisheye lens effect."
Another added: "Better than Ring! I've been using the Blink Video Doorbell with Sync Module 2 for a few months now, and it has completely exceeded my expectations for a budget-friendly smart doorbell. The ease of installation, reliable performance, and useful features make this a fantastic choice for anyone looking to add a layer of security to their home without breaking the bank."
Some users have been swayed in favour of the Ring. A customer said: "After a lot of reviewing I decided to finally try a video doorbell. Went for this one because it was cheaper and the subscription cost is a lot less. At first I thought it was good. It had an OK video quality and linked to Alexa very well.
"I quickly realised it used batteries a lot quicker than it claims ... I decided it was not for me and bought a Ring one instead. The Ring so far is much better although more expensive."
